The question “directories or review platforms?” is the wrong question. The right question is: “Where are my highest-value customers looking, and am I showing up there with a complete, credible, actively maintained presence?” Answer that, and the platform choice takes care of itself.
The businesses that will capture the most leads through the rest of 2026 and into 2027 won’t be the ones that picked the “right” platform category. They’ll be the ones that stopped treating directories and review platforms as competing line items — and started treating them as interconnected parts of a single presence strategy, measured honestly, maintained consistently, and allocated based on what the data actually says rather than what the latest agency blog post claims. That work isn’t glamorous. It doesn’t make a good LinkedIn post. But it’s what moves the pipeline; and in the end, that’s the only metric that matters.
