Bangkok is the commercial, political, and industrial hub of the country. Thailand's economic growth was quite rapid during the time period between 1985 and 1995. This rapid growth was instrumental in the country's new status as a newly industrialized nation. Thailand is a major exporter of Information and Communication Technology and electronic products.

Tourism also contributes significantly to the country's economy. Thailand has many great tourist attractions including its beautiful beaches, wonderful hotels and splendid landmarks across the country.
