The online site for the Hearst Corporation's San Francisco Chronicle is no nonsense. It is chock full of information, but little more than text of titles.

The landing page is easy to read with the formal masthead stuck in the upper left corner overshadowed by the casual moniker and web address, SFGate. The banner at the top offers weather, a tool bar of simple section tabs, and hardly any advertisements.

The section headings are so simplified, it is a bit confusing where one might find specific information or news. Front Page News, More News, and More from the Main Section combine local, national and global news.
